This Is the Stuff That drives me crazy!

Kyra loves this song! It is one of my favorites as well.

I lost my keys
In the great unknown
And call me please
'Cuz I can't find my phone

This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed

This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use

45 in a 35
Sirens and fines
while I'm running behind
Whoa

This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed

This is the stuff that gets under my skin
[| From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/f/francesca-battistelli-lyrics/this-is-the-stuff-lyrics.html |]
But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use

So break me of impatience
Conquer my frustrations
I've got a new appreciation
It's not the end of the world
Oh Oh Oh

This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff
Someone save me
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed

This is the stuff that gets under my skin
And I've gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use

Oh Oh Oh Oh
This is the stuff You use

Kyra's New Glasses

Kyra had an eye appointment on Monday, June 20th. The doctor told her that she has a astigmatism. :( So, this meant......she had to get glasses. I was super upset about this. Not sure why except for the selfish reasons. But, I'm now over that and worried that Kyra herself is upset. She continues to say that people will think she is weird and laugh at her. Not sure where she heard that. It makes me sad to hear her say that.

Motherhood by Tina Fey

First, Lord: No tattoos. May neither Chinese symbol for truth nor Winnie-the-Pooh holding the FSU logo stain her tender haunches.

May she be Beautiful but not Damaged, for it’s the Damage that draws the creepy soccer coach’s eye, not the Beauty.

When the Crystal Meth is offered, May she remember the parents who cut her grapes in half And stick with Beer.

Guide her, protect her
When crossing the street, stepping onto boats, swimming in the ocean, swimming in pools, walking near pools, standing on the subway platform, crossing 86th Street, stepping off of boats, using mall restrooms, getting on and off escalators, driving on country roads while arguing, leaning on large windows, walking in parking lots, riding Ferris wheels, roller-coasters, log flumes, or anything called “Hell Drop,” “Tower of Torture,” or “The Death Spiral Rock ‘N Zero G Roll featuring Aerosmith,” and standing on any kind of balcony ever, anywhere, at any age.

Lead her away from Acting but not all the way to Finance. Something where she can make her own hours but still feel intellectually fulfilled and get outside sometimes And not have to wear high heels.

What would that be, Lord? Architecture? Midwifery? Golf course design? I’m asking You, because if I knew, I’d be doing it, Youdammit.

May she play the Drums to the fiery rhythm of her Own Heart with the sinewy strength of her Own Arms, so she need Not Lie With Drummers.

Grant her a Rough Patch from twelve to seventeen. Let her draw horses and be interested in Barbies for much too long, For childhood is short – a Tiger Flower blooming Magenta for one day – And adulthood is long and dry-humping in cars will wait.

O Lord, break the Internet forever, That she may be spared the misspelled invective of her peers And the online marketing campaign for Rape Hostel V: Girls Just Wanna Get Stabbed.

And when she one day turns on me and calls me a Bitch in front of Hollister, Give me the strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends, For I will not have that Shit. I will not have it.

And should she choose to be a Mother one day, be my eyes, Lord, that I may see her, lying on a blanket on the floor at 4:50 A.M., all-at-once exhausted, bored, and in love with the little creature whose poop is leaking up its back.

“My mother did this for me once,” she will realize as she cleans feces off her baby’s neck. “My mother did this for me.” And the delayed gratitude will wash over her as it does each generation and she will make a Mental Note to call me. And she will forget. But I’ll know, because I peeped it with Your God eyes.

Amen.

Ketchup, mustard and more

Last week, we lost our power for 3 days! :( We had to throw away all of our food that was in our refridgerator. It also damaged our floor because of the water from our icemaker.

We are dealing with insurance claims because of the food and our floor. Patiently waiting.....

Life is exhausting!

January has been a super exhausting month so far!

*My mom had her surgery at the end of December, which kept her in the hospital until January. She has been doing really well with getting around and learning how to do things. The hospital taught her many things to do, including playing on the Wii. :)

* Then we had snow days! We were out of work and played in the snow. But after awhile, we were definitely ready for it to go away. :)

An update since 2011 is closing in

I know that i have been an absolute slacker on the blog lately. Most of you that read this already know how much I have been dealing with. But for those of you that do not know, my mom has been having health issues with her foot since August 2010. She has been home and dealing since September. The doctors scheduled an MRI in November just to check on her foot(kind of routine like) and saw that the infection has been in her bone for sometime. :( It has eaten away at parts of her foot and ankle to where she can no longer walk on it. For her health and safety, they have decided to have surgery to have an amputation done below the knee. This will happen on December 28th.

3rd Birthday!

Kyra's 3rd Birthday was on November 6th. (boo on me for being behind) She had a great time at Chuck E Cheese until Chuck E Cheese came out to greet the other birthday kids. (Kyra was not having her party here, just a special trip with mommy and daddy) Once Chuck E Cheese came out, it was all over. Kyra was terrified! She does NOT like him at all!

She had a birthday party the next weekend. :) Almost all of her friends came. Kyra had a great time and loved all of her presents. Especially her bicycle from Grandma and Grandpa and her Belle doll from Aunt Connie! :)

Pumpkin Patch 2010

We went to the pumpkin patch again this year. Kyra enjoyed it this year, since she was older and understood it more than last. We fed the animals, face painting, played on the playground and corn pit and looked at pumpkins. We had a great time!

I'm a slacker.....on the blog

I haven't updated this in almost a month.

My mom has been home from the hospital for about 2 weeks now. She seems to be doing ok. It will be a slow recovery with her foot and heart problems. Thank you all for your prayers. :) They mean everything!

Monday

Tomorrow is a big day....some of it exciting and some of it scary!

Exciting part: My SIL Connie is having her gender ultrasound tomorrow. So very exciting! Because just in Feb. we lost beautiful Chloe Alexis. And for them to have this chance is Awesome!

Scary Part: My mom is having her heart catherization tomorrow. They are checking to see if there is any blockage or if she needs a stent put in. If she is ok and needs none of that, she will be able to go home soon. If something needs to be done, they are transferring her to a hospital in Charlotte. It is all up in the air right now.

I am leaving everything is the hands of GOD. I know that HE will make things the way that HE wants them to be. I just have a hard doing that....because this is my mommy.....Please pray! I have faith!

9-11....Where were you?

Thinking of today....9 years ago. I was sitting in a class (history of rock and roll) at UNCC. My professor announced at the end of class that the one tower had been hit. By the time, I made it to my next class, the others were hit. Class was cancelled. My friend Amy and I spent the day watching the news. I called family in New York to make sure that they were ok (several worked in the city) I was in complete awe and shock!

Always remember that day and what America stands for! We are the land of the free BECAUSE of the brave!

Prayers

Prayers are definitely needed for my family! My mom has been in the hospital since last Sunday. She went in with a foot infection. :( It has progressed into more....She has not been able to hold food down until the past day or two. She had to have a blood transfusion today, because they believe that there was internal bleeding from dry heaving.

Just please when you pray....pray for my mom! Thanks everyone!

the 30 club

In one hour, I will no longer be in my "twenties". I'll be entering a new stage in my life. LOL :) I'll be THIRTY years old! I remember whenI thought that was soooooo old. Now that i am there, it doesn't seem to be that bad. :) I can't wait to see what my "thirties" have in store! :)

I need to sit down and make a list about things that I want to do and finish before I turn 31. :) That gives me a year! :)

Sleep issues

This past week, Kyra has been having the worst sleep issues ever! She refuses to go to bed peacefully. She has kicked her gate down, climbed over it, screams and cries at the gate. When we rock her, she is fine but as soon as you lay her down, she is DONE! I have asked for tons of advice, but am having trouble initating some of it. Thanks for listening to this vent!
